THE TOUR
The Plant A Wish Tour is a nation-wide tree planting awareness campaign that aims to continually increase the number of indigenous plants and trees thriving in their natural habitat, through:
- creating and sharing educational products (film and video, blog site, social media campaigns)
- hosting and participating in community events (tree plantings, benefits, workshops)
- partnering with and highlighting ecological restoration projects across the country
Beginning on Earth Day, April 22, 2010, filmmakers Sara Tekula and Joseph Imhoff will tour over the U.S. with a video camera in one hand and a shovel in the other, planting native trees and meeting the people who care for them along the way. The effort will continue until native trees are planted in all 50 states.
The Message:
Replenishing and caring for native habitats is the key to our planet’s ability to provide us with the resources we need, like fresh air and clean water. Every human living today has the ability to change the environment for the better.
