Plant a Wish is currently on tour in the Mid-west and Northeast!
Click here to see our Tour Map, and click here to see our Tour Dates! In each state, we are connecting with local organizations, leaders, and future caretakers who participate in community tree plantings in one town/city per state.
The Plant a Wish Tour is a nation-wide tree planting and public awareness campaign that aims to continually increase the number of indigenous plants and trees thriving in urban and rural forests, through:
- COMMUNICATION: Reminding everyone the importance of native trees. Creating and sharing media-based educational products with local communities and the public (video, our blog page, social media),
- COMMUNITY: Facilitating, hosting and participating in community events (tree plantings, benefits, workshops), and
- COMMITMENT: participating with and highlighting the work of ecological restoration projects across the country.
On Earth Day 2010 we launched our project, which will ultimately visit all 50 United States – uniting each community in an unparalleled tree planting effort. With a video camera in one hand, and a shovel in another, we’ll travel the country planting trees and meeting people whose lives are dedicated to caring for them.
In the end, we’ll be the first people in history to plant native trees in all 50 states. But we hope we won’t be the last.
