When a tree grows in the forest, does it make a sound? If the tree was planted with a wish, it does.
“Plant a Wish” is a feature documentary following tree planting, road tripping, filmmaking couple Joe and Sara as they set out on a challenging, self-imposed mission to become the first people in history to plant native trees in all 50 states of the USA.
Travel the open road alongside this curious husband-wife duo as they put their hands in the dirt all over the country and meet the experts who are growing some of the most rare and endangered species on the planet.
Exploring alongside tree-planting eco-warriors who make it their life’s purpose to re-establish a healthier natural environment, we learn of their passions and their purpose. We also hear from scientists who are responsible for breakthroughs in research about humans and their crucial need for available access to nature.
With a video camera in one hand and a shovel in the other, Sara and Joe make their way from sea to shining sea; exploring the lush jungles, vast deserst, frozen tundra, urban forests, and wastelands searching for the most compelling stories that showcase an accurate portrayal of man’s relationship with nature. All of it emphasizing one simple notion: we need trees.
