    2010 - 01.11

Sara is an enthusiastic, life-loving creative thinker with a highly versatile toolbox at her disposal. With over a decade of professional experience doing community outreach for nonprofits, producing TV and film projects for corporations and organizations, and designing educational programs for communities, she has dedicated her life to discovering, learning, and sharing new information, fresh ideas, and her personal favorite: telling interesting stories.

Her media production credits include the hit TV series “Survivor!” for CBS and “Behind the Music” for VH1. She has spearheaded education/outreach efforts for organizations such as the Southern California Earthquake Center, Akaku: Maui Community Television, and now, Plant A Wish.

Growing up in the small hamlet of Brookhaven on Long Island, Sara was lucky to experience time in nature on a daily basis. Her father a local fisherman and her mother a lifelong gardener, she has spent countless hours on his boat in the Great South Bay, and a lot of time playing in nature with her mom.

In 1997, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Psychology. Now she lives on Maui with her partner and husband Joe, where they both work as independent filmmakers. Getting to know the islands and working the land together, they have both discovered a passion for planting native trees and plants to help restore what was lost in Hawaii during the 1800s.
