Meet Joe & Sara.
Merging their respective backgrounds in documentary production, nonprofit management and outdoor education, Plant a Wish founders Sara Tekula and Joseph Imhoff have a unique combined skill set which makes the Plant a Wish project a natural progression of their combined interests, talents, and passions.
Sara has a degree in psychology from the University of Southern California and over 10 years’ experience in the entertainment industry, including producer credits on “Survivor” for CBS and the “Behind the Music” documentary series for Vh1. Working with video since 1999, she is also a talented videographer and editor. She has interviewed many experts and celebrities and also works regularly as a freelance journalist. A public relations, internet marketing and social media consultant for 6 years, Sara teaches Marketing at the University of Hawaii Maui College campus. She has also held positions as a Education Director of a nonprofit community media organization, and an outreach specialist for an earth-science related nonprofit. Click here to email Sara.
Joe is the outreach coordinator and trainer for one of Hawaii’s most successful and socially responsible outdoor activity companies, and has planted over 1,000 indigenous trees on Maui, leading hundreds of volunteers from the community on native tree planting excursions. An experienced land steward and caretaker, Joe has over 10 years experience as an outdoor educator. He also is a skilled videographer and editor, with a wide variety of production credits on his resume. Click here to email Joe.
