Planting Details:
We planted a total of 18 native trees/plants on the afternoon of June 2nd, 2010 at an area that used to be an old railroad transfer yard. The restoration of the area began 10 years ago, and you can really see the difference if you look at old photos of the place. The varieties we planted were several types of oak, serviceberry (a.k.a. juneberry) and a few other native plants. A handful of folks who normally volunteer for Tree Trust showed up, and we had a really great time getting our hands dirty! Have a look at the slideshow to see more photos:
