VIDEO UPDATE: Sara & Joe Reporting from a North Texas Rest Area

VIDEO UPDATE: Sara & Joe Reporting from a North Texas Rest Area

April 21, 2011 By spectekula Leave a Comment

Enjoy this short update from Sara and Joe as they make their way from Oklahoma City, OK to the Four Corners Monument on the Plant a Wish tour. Click here to make a donation.

Sara & Joe report live from a Texas rest area

Most recently they planted a sapling of the Survivor Tree with the Oklahoma City National Memorial and 75 students from Taft Middle School on the 16th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. You can bet there were a LOT of wishes!

The Four Corners Monument will gain some vegetation this Friday, 4/22!

Next up, Sara and Joe head to the Four Corners Monument to plant native trees, shrubs, and grasses in four states in one day as a part of a special Earth Day event. (Fun fact: This Earth Day, April 22nd is the 1-year anniversary of the Plant a Wish launch! This year on Earth Day, Plant a Wish will have held native tree planting events in 41 states!) Click here to download the Navajo Nation Parks & Recreations’s flyer. Special thanks to Al Schneider of the Four Corners Native Plant Society for making this special day possible.

Tori hosting the Upside News

Also: if you’re in the Northern California region, tune in TONIGHT to the Upside News,  a half hour, twice weekly, live news cast focused on positive news. We’ve been invited to be featured in their Earth Day edition, and we’ll be Skyping in from our home base in Dolores, CO, so we will be live on the air!

Upside News airs on Comcast Hometown Network, channel 104, available in about 2 million homes across Northern California.  The show airs live at 6:30 pm PST on Tuesday and Thursday, with re-airs later the same evening and the following morning.  They also post clips online at facebook.com/upsidenews and youtube.com/upsidenews.

More updates from the Plant a Wish tour coming soon as internet service is available. Aloha!
