Hey there everyone! After a 12 hour stint of airline travel and a night in Chicago staying with an old friend, we’re in Wisconsin!
Today, we visited McKay Nursery in Waterloo, WI to pick up the tree for Monday’s inaugural planting event, to be held at Winnequah Park in Monona – the town where Joe grew up. The Northern Red Oak was picked for Winnequah Park because of it’s size, and because it’s native to the area. It is 15 feet tall and weighs almost 750 pounds! We needed a forklift to get it onto the truck.
We interviewed Mike, one of the sales reps at McKay’s, about the tree we’re about to plant, and got some great footage for the documentary. We’ll be at Joe’s family reunion tomorrow, so we probably will be offline most of the day.
